In the current climate and uncertainty of Brexit, it may seem surprising that 59% of UK staff are considering moving jobs this year. A recent poll by Investors In People found that 1 in 3 people are unhappy in their current job.

The poll found that while pay (51%) is the biggest gripe for staff, bad management (42%) also has a major effect on job satisfaction.

Not feeling valued (34%) was cited as another reason for leaving. This is particularly relevant to younger workers under 29, with over a third saying it’s one of the most important things they look for in a job.

While pay is important, 36% of those surveyed would rather have a flexible approach to working hours than a 3% pay rise. Along with flexibility and pay the other important qualities that job seekers look for are work enjoyment (64%), good benefits (44%) and a good employer reputation (42%).
